The Development of Small Businesses.
The geographical location of Grodno, bordering on Poland and Lithuania, developed social infrastructure, telecommunication, transport and information service systems, the network of motor transport and railway connections give it advantages over other regions of Belarus to development the businesses and attract foreign investments .The infrastructure of small business has been developed in Grodno. Public organizations of business owners work here to unite the enterpreneurs' structures on voluntary basis in order to work out the problems facing them.

The regional center of the enterpreneurs' financial support to owners and business support center also function in Grodno.
The enterpreneurs' activities are multilateral. They make furniture, construction materials, knitted and sewn goods, produce different foodstuffs, develop communication services, tourism, etc.
1500 small enterprises employing over 10,000 people have been registered in Grodno. Taking into account 10,000 individual owners, the small business sphere embraces 20% of economically active population.
More than 60% of individual enterpreneurs are engaged in commerce. There are 4,949 trade outlets and 282 pavilions functioning at the city markets.
